Katelyn & Kurt’s wedding at the Ocean View Club was absolutely stunning. So simple, elegant, and timeless, to sum it up in a couple of words, beach chic. When they inquired with me, we discussed a more intimate and organic approach to their wedding over the traditional, overly-calculated, and posed shots. I love capturing wedding days in a documentary style and focusing on moments of celebration rather than curating the day.

They had their rehearsal welcome party at the Coral Sands on Thursday night, the wedding at Ocean View Club on Friday, and a pool party and bonfire as a last final celebration at The Other Side on Saturday. Their goal was to make the celebration a whole weekend as opposed to just one day. They wanted their guests to be able to make a vacation out of it instead of just flying in for the day and flying back out. This wedding weekend is a perfect example of extending the celebration into a few days. The whole weekend from start to finish was a dream!

The details of the day were so perfect. The wedding designer, Ben, who is local to the island foraged all of the greenery locally on the day of the wedding. It was incredible watching him build on site. He is amazing at what he does! Katelyn made such a beautiful bride, she wore a gorgeous, clean, silky gown which was perfect for the beachy vibe of the weekend. Kurt wore a tan, linen suit which played into the beach chic feeling perfectly.

Katelyn’s sister found me through Instagram and they wanted someone who would be coming from Atlanta, as a lot of people were coming from the area down to the Bahamas for the wedding. I always love traveling to photograph weddings and I feel so grateful to photograph couples all over the world. Something really unique that was such a cool touch to this wedding was they had a surprise local band and dancers perform at the end of the night! It was a super fun ending to the day.
