Jaw-Dropping Luxury Vogue Wedding in Marrakesh at Dar Sabra Hotel
When I first connected with Tori Elizabeth and Keegan Phillips, and heard about their plans to marry at the colorful Dar Sabra Hotel in Marrakesh, I was eager at the chance to join them as their wedding photographer. Never could I have dreamed, that the images from this truly one-of-a-kind day would land in front of the eyes of Vogue Bridal 2020 editor, Alexandra Macon and I would be published as one of the Vogue wedding photographers. This wedding was nonconventional in all the right ways! From three custom wedding looks, to a fire show, and a rapping performance by the bride and groom! I was overcome with gratitude throughout my entire experience documenting this Vogue Luxury Wedding and thankful they trusted me to capture the essence of this weekend in a nontraditional way. Their imagery needed to reflect their unique styles as individuals, but most importantly the intimacy of this group of people. Their guest list included a small group of people that had been a part of their journey as a couple coming together. Amongst her diverse group of guests included numerous social media influencers like Ivy Coco and Sanaa Jaman, a former miss universe of Ghana, singers, song writers, motivational speakers, photographers, creative directors, yoga masters, and many more.
I have a huge appreciation for Tori and her eye as a stylist in bringing this vision to life alongside Maëv Events and floral designer Le Kiosque á Fleurs. Bridesmaids and guests witnessed the exchange of their personal vows in the intimate setting of a circular altar encompassed by a pampas grass. This led to a cocktail hour greeted by Moroccan drummers and smells of frankincense and myrrh as they entered the custom reception tent built for this Vogue Wedding Reception.
Inspired by other Vogue luxury weddings going into this trip, it was important that I approached this day as an editorial wedding photographer with a fashion forward perspective, while also honoring the deep connection between Tori and Keegan and their friends and family. It is this combination of a passion for art, design, and authentic emotion that made us a natural fit.
